Wastewater treatment · Filtration · Reuse
Where the module sits in the plant.
A submerged flat-sheet membrane bioreactor module does the solid-liquid separation in mixed liquor. Activated sludge stays in the tank. Permeate leaves as treated water. That is wastewater filtration for municipal sewage treatment and industrial wastewater treatment. It is also the usual first membrane step for wastewater reuse and water reclamation. The same cassette can be purchased or rented for a pilot or temporary capacity. Plants running other-brand flat-sheet cassettes can ask about replacement plates.
Ultrafiltration and microfiltration
Zyramic Palisade is the polymer MBR cassette. Ceramic modules cover ultrafiltration and microfiltration — silicon carbide and alumina, flat sheet or tube. Alumina reaches into tight UF and near-nanofiltration on some elements. We do not sell a reverse osmosis or nanofiltration element.
CIP and backwash
Clean-in-place (CIP) is the chemical clean for the polymer PES cassette. The PES cassette is not backwashed. Ceramic is the line you backwash, then clean with aggressive chemicals. Recipes stay on the quotation and the O&M.
Downstream reverse osmosis
Plants that need reuse, reclaimed water, or RO pretreatment often put nanofiltration or reverse osmosis after MBR or UF. Zyramic supplies the module upstream. Partners take the rest of the train. Modules, not systems.
Why it stays clean
Every plate gets the same scour.
Targeted scouring puts scour air at the plate. Dedicated scour, every plate. The plate-to-manifold interface is redesigned for service.
Dedicated scour, 24/7, every plate. The cassette wants its own scour air, running. That is how you protect the investment.
Uniform water velocity between each plate. Same velocity, same scour on every plate.
Plates have room to scour. They are 41.2 in (1,047 mm), so the top of the plate stays clean. Channels stay open. You stay out of the tank.
The polypropylene support plate holds PES from a global life-sciences membrane manufacturer. That sheet has been in the market for years. A major German producer already runs it. The plate is a lightened PP plate for handling. PP is a lighter polymer from American natural gas.
Sheet is 0.04 µm PES. Spontaneously wettable. Store wet or dry. No glycol.

Does Zyramic sell a full wastewater system?

What wastewater jobs is this for?
Municipal and industrial wastewater treatment, sewage treatment, wastewater filtration, and wastewater reuse. The polymer cassette is a submerged flat-sheet membrane bioreactor in mixed liquor. Ceramic covers ultrafiltration and microfiltration, including reuse streams you can backwash.
Do you sell reverse osmosis or nanofiltration?
No. Zyramic sells MBR, ultrafiltration, and microfiltration modules. Alumina ceramic can reach tight UF and near-nanofiltration on some elements. Reverse osmosis and nanofiltration, when a reuse plant needs them, sit downstream. Partners take that part of the train.
What is CIP versus backwash?
CIP (clean in place) is the chemical clean for the polymer Palisade cassette. The PES cassette is not backwashed. Ceramic modules are backwashed, then cleaned with aggressive chemicals. Both recipes are written for the job. This site does not publish a strength or a psi.
Can I rent a membrane bioreactor module?
Yes. Zyramic rents Palisade membrane bioreactor (MBR) modules and ceramic UF/MF modules for a pilot, temporary capacity, or a trial before a capital buy. You rent the module, not a treatment system. Terms on the quotation.
